As part of a masterplan for Southport Seafront, the Local Authority carried out a competitive selection process to design and build a new bridge connecting the town with the beach beyond. Won by Jacobs in collaboration with Nicoll Russell Studios, the response to that challenge is the 150m long Marine Way Bridge which has become a recognisable landmark in the area.
