Dundee Rep completes one side of a small Georgian Square in the city, presenting a dynamic glazed frontage where the public “theatre” of audience activity and movement around a grand stair animates the public realm. A formative project for our practice, it set the scene for our continuing architectural interest in craft, place making, context, appropriateness, sensitivity, drama, and detail. The quality and national importance of the building has been recognised with a rare Category-A Listing by Historic Environment Scotland. The Rep provides a spirited, intimate, and well-loved setting, heightening the experience of its audiences and inspiring resident and visiting actors alike.
