During the 1950s, Ault Wharrie was converted into a nursing home and suffered from many inappropriate alterations and laterally, a lack of repair. Nicoll Russell Studios Limited completed a detailed schedule of repairs, obtained multiple planning and listed building approvals. The client’s objective was to save the house, conserve its many artefacts and return the original house once more into a single family home.
