An Lanntair Arts Centre in Stornoway is architecturally, figuratively and linguistically a beacon (being the Gaelic for lantern). The centre provides a bright, flexible and modern venue for the arts in in the Western Isles of Scotland. Cinema, theatre, music, education and visual arts are all showcased in this uniquely flexible and competition winning design. It is a beacon of encouragement not only for those involved in the arts locally, but for other arts communities working outwith the major mainland cities.
