Old Medical School + Carnelley Building, Dundee

The project consists of a new link which also forms a communal entrance to two existing buildings (which have become a single faculty containing research and teaching laboratories), improved fire safety measures, and accessibility improvements. As both buildings are of a considerable age and are both Category ‘B’ listed, the works required to bring them up to current standards were substantial. The existing buildings remained open throughout the construction period due to continued liaison with the University’s Health and Safety Officer, Building Control, and the Fire Service.
