Nicoll Russell Studios worked alongside shopfitting contractors to provide extensive design and co‐ordination services for new department stores in several locations across the UK. Our design role was to recognise the fluid nature of retail, sustain established brand identities, understand retail planning principles, and interpret briefing requirements through provision of fresh and inviting environments. The largest of these projects refreshed 70,000 sq ft of retail space over 3 floors. We focused on creating dramatic shop entrances and display windows, balancing merchandise showcasing with maximising views into the stores.
