Seabraes Bridge

Dundee

The Seabraes area of Dundee, a former railway marshalling yard, has until recently been a forgotten backwater, with no through-road links and cut-off from the Tay by the east coast mainline. This was identified as a key problem to be addressed in the redevelopment of Seabraes as a new Digital Media and Creative Industries area - to be called `District 10` - which aims to build upon Dundee’s growing reputation in software engineering, particularly in computer games.

Spanning over the east coast mainline, the new Seabraes Bridge establishes a new pedestrian/cycle link between the river, District 10 and the university district beyond. The bridge enhances the viability of development sites on the waterfront by improving their connection to the city as a whole.
