Our Clients originally bought a rundown cottage in the 1970ís and over a period of years had restored and extended their property.
The Clients were keen to develop their property to provide additional space, and also rationalise and enhance the quality of the existing house. This was achieved by creating an extension which balanced the massing of the original cottage. A cruciform plan was developed with an extended and enhanced reception space at its heart and a new living/study area in the roof space which takes advantage of the excellent views gained from this elevated position, by looking down towards Cupar and beyond to the Lomond hills.
A new master bedroom with ensuite was also created on the ground floor and new ensuite bathrooms were added to two existing bedrooms, including an accessible shower room.
A new drive way was also created which wraps around the extension, bringing visitors to the new entrance door position on the more sheltered north-east side of the house.
